Right now, thousands of women are facing the many challenges and traumas of homelessness. The reasons people become homeless can vary from the loss of a family member, sudden unemployment, domestic abuse, illness and much more. The fact that it can happen to any one of us is more than enough evidence that an empathetic call to action should remain amongst our priorities.

While the well-being of both homeless men and women are important, I wanted to focus this call to action around women who do not have access to basic hygienical care during their monthly menstrual cycles. It is a hindrance on a woman’s dignity and can cause a substantial number of infections and health issues if she cannot keep herself clean during her period. As almost every woman on Earth can testify, having their menstrual cycle can be hard enough. We experience physical pain and discomfort during this time. Imagine that experience without having a place to call home.

This campaign is simple. The mission is to raise money to purchase feminine care products such as Pads, toxin-free tampons, wipes and panty-liners to donate to homeless women in New York City. In order to provide them with enough supply for the duration of their periods which can last anywhere between 3-10 days. Your help is important and much appreciated.
